Silica gel

Silica gel is amorphous SiO₂ obtained in the form of granules of uniform size. The stable structure of this material is characterized by a large specific surface area and a large pore volume. As a result, Silica gel has excellent adsorption properties. The production process is  controlled and managed on the basis of a series of parameters so that it is possible to obtain products of different specifications according to the needs of a certain application of the material.

Silica gel is used as an adsorbent of water and moisture in various chemical and industrial processes or for the preservation and protection of commercial products from the presence of moisture. Due to its ability to adsorb or desorb different substances, selectively and at different speeds, it is used in chromatographic techniques, as well as in medicine and pharmacy. A well-known use of silica gel is the controlled dispersion of perfumes in various forms of scented fresheners.
