Zvornik “Alumina” tops the list of the largest exporters

The ITA (Indirect Taxation Authority) of BiH provided “Nezavisne novine” with data on which companies are the largest exporters and which import the most products in BiH during this year.

The company from Zvornik is followed by the company “TT Kabeli” from Široki Brijeg and SSL from Lukavac. The fourth largest exporter this year is “Aluminij” from Mostar, and the fifth is “Global Global ispat koksna industrija” from Lukavac. They are followed by “ArcelorMittal” from Zenica, “Miviko” from Posušje, and “Natron-hajat” from Maglaj. The ninth place is occupied by another company from Široki Brijeg, namely FEAL, and the top 10 largest exporters list is rounded out by Rudnik and Termoelektrana Stanari.

As for importers, the largest is “Holdina” from Sarajevo, then “Global ispat koksna industrija” from Lukavac, and “Optima Grupa” from Banja Luka. “Petrol BH OIL Company” from Sarajevo is the fourth largest importer. The fifth is “Hercegovinalijek” from Mostar, and the sixth is “TT Kabeli” from Široki Brijeg.

The top 10 largest importers also include “Porše BH” based in Sarajevo, “Antunović AGS” from Orašje, “Violeta” from Grude, and “Bingo” from Tuzla.

Zoran Stevanović, president of the company “Alumina” Board of Directors from Zvornik, told “Nezavisne novine” that they export their complete program to 35 countries and to all continents.

"We mostly export to the European Union. Although, in slightly smaller quantities, but the products from “Alumina” go to all continents. First of all, we export our basic products, various types of alumina, hydrates, zeolites, silica gel, and water glass, which are used in the aluminium industry, cement, refractory materials, ceramics, aluminium salts, paper industry, glass industry, in the production of powder and liquid detergents, molecular sieves and so on"
said Stevanovic

Regarding the financial results this year, Stevanović says that in six months of this year, they had a total income of about 186 million KM and that 98 or 99 percent of this amount was earned from exports. According to him, they are working on improving and creating some new products.

"As far as the EU is concerned, we sell most of our goods to Slovenia, Hungary, Italy, Germany, and all the way to Spain, Sweden, Finland, and France. However, we have four companies in bankruptcy which are in the located in “Alumina” area, so there are enormous costs for it. However, we expect the results to be good this year. The average salary in “Alumina” is 1.880 KM and we employ 1,380 workers. Production is operating non-stop, all 12 months. We have stabilized the supply of energy and basic raw materials.  Also, the supply of bauxite as a basic raw material for the production process in “Alumina” has been solved, and we get more than a third of our needs from the Milići bauxite mine," concluded Stevanovic.

We remind you that, we, “Nezavisne novine” announced a few days ago that the export of companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina amounted to 8,269,069,601 KM in six months of this year.

On the other hand, imports amounted to 14,966,435,823 KM, which means that the foreign trade deficit of BiH in six months of this year is 6.7 billion KM.
